Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund

Life's Vision International (LVI) has been active in Haiti for a number of years providing humanitarian aid and adoption services. While we don't have an open adoption program at this time, we still have families in the adoption process and their children are in the orphanage in Haiti. We have been blessed all the children (over 125) at the orphanage are all okay. The homes (3 of them) are still standing, but all the children from one of the homes had to be moved in with the children in one of the another homes because of structural damage, and the children in the infants and toddlers home are living on the lawn of their house.

During our Haiti Adoption Program's active time, LVI, along with Answered Prayers (AP), a Humanitarian Aid organization to Haiti, would take a group of volunteers to Haiti every 3 months. The group would take much needed supplies to the orphanage and organizations in Haiti that LVI and AP worked closely with. The team of volunteers, led by staff of AP and LVI's Haiti Program Manager at the time, Linda Sheppard, would mentor the children; do repairs at the homes, sort and deliver the sometimes 30 or more, 35 gallon bins of donated supplies; and just spend time with the children, letting them know they are special and loved.

Linda has continued these humanitarian trips to Haiti and a trip was already being planned for March. The trip will now be scheduled for as soon as the ability to get around in Haiti is possible and arrangements can be made.

Our plea:

If you are looking for a way to help Haiti please consider donating through LVI. 100% of all donations will go to Haiti with Linda and a team of volunteers.

Our priority of care is to BREMSA (the orphanage); Mountaintop Ministry; Wing’s of Hope, a home for mentally and physically disabled children; and the smaller ministries we have worked with. As well as families that rely on assistance through some of the ministries. While we understand some of you would like to donate supplies, it's unrealistic to try to get supplies into Haiti right now. LVI will make sure all funds are used for supplies, medical supplies, food, water, clean up, repairs and housing, both immediately and in the future, as recovery from this tragedy is going to be a long process.

All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt. You can donate using a credit card by clicking on "Donate Online" under the picture above (please include your email address in the comments area and email the notice of the transaction to LVI) or send a check, money order or cashier's check to LVI. If you would like your donation to be used for a specific project please indicate which one.

Please give what you can, even if it’s only a few dollars. Every little bit will add up and help tremendously. You may be able to double you donation through your employer if they have a matching program, so please check with them if you aren't sure.
