I first started thinking about forming Hope For Fallen Leaves after my first trip to Ghana, West Africa where I saw how much the precious children there were lacking so much of everything. It made me realize just how much my family and I have been blessed with all the comforts and security we need and I felt like I needed to do something to help these children. Right away I became involved in a non-profit organization in Ghana for deaf children. I love to run so I organized and completed a solo 100 mile charity run here in the U.S. which raised about $50,000 for the deaf children in Ghana and their schools.

After that visit to Ghana my husband and I also decided that, even after having 7 biological children and being a little older than most parents, we wanted to adopt. We were quickly blessed with finding our precious little daughter, Jeremina, who has come to us straight from heaven. The process took two long years but the blessings and joy she has brought to our family has been more than worth the wait. I am hoping that through Hope For Fallen Leaves I can help not only the millions of orphans of the world get a family, but for families who want so badly to adopt but don't have the finances to do so, also experience the joys of adoption.

As I have contemplated putting Hope For Fallen Leaves together over the last couple years I couldn’t help but think of the children who can’t or won’t be adopted. I want to do as much, in as many ways as possible, to help these children also through humanitarian aid projects. Such as support for a child; providing drinking water, food and clothing, medicine and medical support, educational opportunities; teaching ways of self-sufficiency; the building of schools, etc . Whatever and however much we can do in our short time here on the earth, I want to do it all!!!!!!!
